September 2025, Singapore — Karen Tan has been appointed as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the Asia-Pacific region by DHL Express, the world’s foremost international express service provider. Karen, who is based in Singapore, will succeed Jimmy Yeoh, who will depart from the organisation at the end of 2025 after an extraordinary 33 years of dedicated service.

Before assuming this new position, Karen was the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of DHL Express Singapore. In this capacity, she oversaw the establishment of a national digitalisation framework, enhanced data protection and information security protocols, and significantly enhanced the IT team’s leadership and employee engagement scores. I
In addition, she was the company’s Data Protection Officer (DPO) Champion, where she worked with the global DPO and legal teams to guarantee that policies and procedures were in place to effectively manage personal data. Furthermore, she was the DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging) Champion, leading initiatives such as International Women’s Day, International Men’s Day, and Generations Day to cultivate a more inclusive and empowered workplace.
Karen will be responsible for the oversight of the region’s IT infrastructure, cybersecurity strategy, and digital acceleration roadmap in her new position. This will involve the support of a network that extends across more than 40 countries and territories. Her leadership will be essential in enabling cross-functional collaboration and communication among numerous teams. This will be essential in guaranteeing that the team continues to provide world-class service to clients throughout the region and facilitate seamless cross-border trade.

Karen commenced her professional career at DHL Express in 1990 as a customer service trainer. She has since held a diverse array of positions within the DHL Group, including those in IT, commercial, and operations. Following her tenure as Vice President of Operations Programs for Asia Pacific in 2014, she assumed the position of Chief Information Officer at DHL Express Singapore in 2021.
