Award-winning guest experience platform provider – Vouch – has announced the launch of its “Mobile Check-in” option through its branded platform, providing hotel guests in Hong Kong and Macau a hassle-free check-in experience.
Designed to enhance the guest experience starting from pre-stay, the new Mobile Check-in solution enables guests to enjoy the convenience of check-in from the moment they have confirmed bookings to their arrival at the accommodation’s doorstep. The full registration process can be easily completed from the comfort of a traveller’s portable mobile device.
“We very often see the check-in process traditionally fulfilled at the front desk. However, these standard procedures can cause inconveniences such as slower operational processes, which lead to lengthy waits for guests and that can be especially painful after a long trip. Our new Mobile Check-in solution provides an alternative way to simplify the guest journey by reducing time spent on the pre-stay process. At an operational level, it enables hoteliers to optimise staff productivity and shift resources to enhance personalised services focused on guests’ needs,” said Joseph Ling, Founder and CEO at Vouch.
With the hospitality industry one of the high touch contact sectors most impacted by the pandemic, Vouch’s new Mobile Check-in feature will support hoteliers in their efforts to maintain compliance with social distancing guidelines and reduce direct guest contact through an innovative guest self-service solution.
Ling shared: “Vouch continuously gathers insights from clients, which enables our team to research, develop, test and launch new technological solutions to support the evolving hospitality industry in Hong Kong and Macau. With the integration of the new Mobile Check-in feature to the current suite of Vouch’s hospitality solutions, we have armed the industry in the region with the right tools to enhance their digital capabilities as they deliver on their promise of a more connected, safe and personalised experience.”
Three easy steps to enjoy a hassle-free check-in experience:
1. Guest Registration – guests will receive an email from the hotel with a unique check-in link for registration, followed by instructions to accept the use of camera to record guest’s identification documents. The optical character recognition (OCR) algorithm will conveniently input all their identification details from their passports in a matter of seconds. Information from this stage is automatically recorded onto the hotel’s PMS, enabling a more streamlined process for hotel operations. Digital copies of travel documents can be collected during this process if the hotel requires.
2. Credit Card Pre-Authorisation – after registration, guests can input their credit card details for pre-authorisation. Both registration and credit card pre-authorisation can be completed any time prior to arrival in the hotel.
3. Identity Verification – upon arrival, guests may connect to the hotel Wi-Fi to verify their physical presence within the hotel premise, followed by the use of front facing camera to verify their identity through liveness detection technology. Key cards can be issued by front desk staff or kiosk card dispensers.
