Barracuda’s several new product innovations spanning Email Protection, Zero Trust Access, Managed XDR and Data Protection.

Barracuda, a trusted partner and leading provider of cloud-first security solutions, has announced strong business growth for its Data Protection business, and several new product innovations, with capabilities to help protect against persistent and evolving threats like ransomware, and solve complex digital business transformation challenges in the areas of Email Protection, Zero Trust Access, Managed XDR, and Data Protection.

Announced during Barracuda’s annual, virtual worldwide customer conference, Secured.22, Barracuda’s SVP, Engineering and Product Management for Data Networks and Application Security, Tim Jefferson, reported a 30% rise in Data Protection new business sales year-over-year at the end of Q2FY23 thanks to cloud-first innovations, with impressive sales growth in Asia-Pacific and other international markets with new business sales up 75% year-over-year for the same period.

Barracuda has grown its Data Protection customer base to more than 40,000 organisations worldwide including Southeast Asia SVP. Owing to the increasing need for secure backup driven by ransomware and other cyberthreats, business momentum was boosted by growth in Barracuda’s Cloud-to-Cloud Backup SaaS product line that protects data stored in Microsoft 365, growing at 34% year-over-year at the end of Q2FY23, including 87% growth in international sales, including APAC.

Product innovations announced during Secured.22, included:

  • Zero Trust Access: as part of Barracuda’s SASE platform, Barracuda CloudGen Access now includes web security to protect users no matter where they work.
  • Email Protection: now with Zero Trust Access, Barracuda Email Protection hardens the Microsoft 365 environment by continuously verifying and only allowing the right users to access the right resources.
  • XDR: now integrated with Barracuda CloudGen Firewall, MSPs can gain visibility and insights by offering 24×7 SOC services, and increase efficiency by reducing product silos, mitigating alert fatigue, and streamlining management of their customers’ environments.
  • Data Protection: now available, Barracuda Cloud-to-Cloud Backup is transactable in Azure Marketplace. Barracuda’s Data Protection business momentum was boosted by the growth in its Cloud-to-Cloud Backup SaaS product line that protects data stored in Microsoft 365.

Commenting on the announcement, Philippe Cazaubon, Regional Director for Southeast Asia and Korea at Barracuda, said: “We continue to see impressive momentum for our Data Protection business in Asia-Pacific and globally, particularly with the explosive increase in the usage of Microsoft 365 apps, which requires a modern cloud-native approach for protection.

“At Barracuda we are dedicated to helping our customers in APAC and across the globe to navigate the increasingly complex threat landscape. With the announcement of these new innovations, which provide a broad set of capabilities across our email protection, Zero Trust and XDR platforms, businesses across the region and the world can rest assured that their businesses and productivity are in the safest of hands.”
