Awards recognise the best in the global telecom industry for innovation in wholesale telecoms and connectivity
Singtel beat a strong field of global carriers to earn two prizes at the well-renowned Global Carrier Awards 2022, held recently in London, United Kingdom. Singtel stood out from operators from larger markets including China, Germany and the United States in the Best Mobile/5G category with Paragon, the industry’s first all-in-one 5G and multi-access edge computing business orchestration platform. In the Best Internet of Things Initiative (IoT) category which recognises outstanding innovation in supply chains, Singtel together with partners, Bridge Alliance and Ericsson, won the top prize for its Multi-Domestic Connectivity Solution, that helps automotive manufacturers overcome challenges when rolling out connected cars across markets.
Mr Bill Chang, Chief Executive Officer, Group Enterprise, Singtel, said, “We are honoured to receive this recognition from the industry which affirms the impact of our 5G and MEC solutions and services for enterprises. Our close collaboration with enterprises gives us insights into their challenges which have guided the development of our Paragon platform with the services and solutions to digitally transform their business and achieve their innovation and growth ambitions.”
Currently in its 19th year, the Global Carrier Awards is the telecoms industry’s most prestigious awards programme, celebrating the best of innovation in wholesale telecoms and connectivity. Judged by an independent expert panel from across the industry, this year’s edition saw more than 280 entries from operators and carriers around the world, vying for 33 awards.
Making 5G adoption easy
Singtel won for its outstanding innovations in mobile and 5G services – in particular for Paragon, a unique unified platform, developed in-house, that removes operational silos, accelerates 5G and MEC solution deployment and democratises networks by allowing enterprises to create and manage network slices on-demand. This capability empowers enterprises to deploy dedicated resources for advanced, mission-critical 5G applications – such as autonomous robotics, virtual reality, augmented reality, digital twin, video analytics, artificial intelligence and more – in real-time with assured service levels and minimal cost overheads. Reducing complexities to connectivity in the region
Singtel, together with Bridge Alliance and Ericsson, won this award for their project, Multi-Domestic Connectivity Solution – a platform that enables automotive manufacturers to seamlessly deploy connected cars in the Asia Pacific region by reducing costs and operational complexities across different markets. With Bridge Alliance’s inter-operator agreements throughout the region, automakers could ink a contract solely with Singtel as lead mobile network operator, without the need to do so with individual in-country operators. The operators are onboarded to Ericsson’s cloud-based IoT Accelerator platform that deploys services seamlessly and efficiently across the region. Singtel coordinates and manages the delivery across other Bridge member operators, removing operational challenges for the customer.
