Workato enables businesses to adopt AI at scale in their automations, driving business efficiency. With the introduction of Workato Copilot, users can build recipes and connectors using natural language. Additionally, Workato announces WorkbotGPT, a new Chat UX that automates work in a user-friendly manner.

Workato, the leading platform for Enterprise Automation, has announced AI@Work, a comprehensive update to their product that empowers enterprises to implement AI in their automation processes, driving greater efficiency in business operations. These new capabilities seamlessly integrate with the Workato platform and harness the power of OpenAI technologies.

Gautham Viswanathan, co-founder and Chief Product Officer at Workato, emphasized the untapped potential of AI in businesses, stating, “The benefits of AI in terms of productivity, efficiency, and innovation are only limited by the extent to which companies embrace it.” With AI@Work, Workato aims to facilitate the widespread adoption of AI at scale by offering a unified platform that combines the power of AI, automation, and integration. This initiative makes it easier for Workato’s customers to incorporate generative AI into their automations, introduces a co-pilot experience for building recipes and connectors, and provides a new conversational approach to interacting with applications and data for streamlined automation.

The key features of AI@Work include:

  1. Workato Copilots: These Copilots act as knowledgeable colleagues with expertise in Workato. They assist users in building recipes and connectors using natural language. Leveraging insights from millions of data points in Workato’s public recipe community, Copilots possess a deep understanding of business entity relationships, logic, data mappings, and transformations. They provide guidance to builders, ensuring privacy and data security by not using customer data to train any models.
  2. AI Connectivity: Users can leverage Workato’s OpenAI Connector, along with other AI Connectors, to infuse AI capabilities into their automations and create smarter business processes. Since May 2023, many customers have successfully utilized the OpenAI connector to automate processes such as generating sales email content, intelligent response handling, personalized campaigns, help desk operations, QBR and sales deck creation, employee engagement enhancement, virtual assistants, and more.
  3. WorkbotGPT (Coming soon): WorkbotGPT enables users to have natural language conversations with applications and data, automating their work. Users can chain interactions together to automate complex multi-step tasks. For example, instructions given to WorkbotGPT may involve fetching deals over $100,000 and requesting updates from the AEs. WorkbotGPT will then retrieve the specified opportunities from Salesforce and send an email to the AEs, requesting an update. This functionality eliminates the need for building recipes or writing code, allowing for seamless conversation-based automation.
  4. GEARSAI: As an operational framework, GEARS (Govern, Enable, Adopt, Run, Scale) drives the adoption of automation across organizations. Workato has enhanced this framework to provide a roadmap for adopting AI alongside automation, enabling successful democratization and adoption of both technologies throughout businesses.

Workato’s AI@Work leverages custom-trained LLMs (large language models) using proprietary data from Workato’s extensive public community of automations, integrations, APIs, and connectors.

Workato has received recognition for its achievements, including being named a Leader in the 2023 Gartner Magic Quadrant for iPaaS. With a focus on integrating applications, data, and experiences, Workato’s platform enables enterprises to automate their business processes throughout their organization. The platform prioritizes best-in-class security, governance, scalability, performance, and availability. Workato’s low-code, no-code approach empowers IT and business teams to seamlessly integrate applications and automate processes, benefiting from thousands of automation “recipes” contributed by the Workato community. By democratizing automation and integration, Workato enables business technologists to drive their organization’s digital transformation.

This announcement follows a year of significant milestones for Workato, including a partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS), the launch of the first Automate World Tour, and the publication of two industry reports: The Work Automation Index and the vendor-neutral State of Business Technology Report. Workato has also earned accolades such as placement on the Wall Street Journal’s Top Financial Decisions Makers list, the Deloitte Technology Fast 500, and the Forbes Cloud 100 rankings.
