Eastern Pacific Shipping, Based in Singapore, Implements Workday to Fast-Track HR Transformation and Drive Tech-Centric Expansion

Pinnacle Player in the Industry Witnesses Enhanced Employee Experience and Amplified Efficiencies via Intuitive Data-Driven Functionality

Workday, a leading provider of enterprise cloud solutions for finance and HR, has officially announced the successful deployment of its platform at Eastern Pacific Shipping (EPS), a prominent ship management company headquartered in Singapore. EPS has strategically adopted Workday to revolutionize its HR processes, aiming to accelerate its technology-driven expansion and enhance the overall employee experience. With a global presence spanning six countries and a fleet of 250 vessels, totaling 23 million deadweight tonnes, EPS’s transformation journey has been empowered by the integration of Workday Human Capital Management (HCM).

By implementing Workday HCM, EPS has centralized employee data and expense information for its workforce of over 400 individuals, effectively minimizing the potential for human errors and discrepancies. This transition has unlocked increased efficiency in decision-making and reporting through data-driven insights. Lynnette Wee, HR Manager at EPS, highlighted the significance of this transformation: “Given our rapid industry growth and the dispersion of our employees across multiple offices, it’s crucial that they have the necessary tools to make accurate, data-supported decisions efficiently. Our collaboration with Workday has played a pivotal role in streamlining and standardizing diverse HR operational processes. We are confident that these measures have empowered our employees to execute their responsibilities with enhanced clarity and precision.”

Pannie Sia, General Manager for ASEAN at Workday, expressed pride in being EPS’s chosen technology partner for their digital evolution. Sia emphasized that by embracing such innovative solutions, companies like EPS can achieve heightened efficiencies, empower their workforce, and provide an improved employee experience worldwide. This, in turn, enables organizations to optimize the productivity and potential of their employees in a rapidly evolving landscape.

Workday’s user-friendly and adaptable nature has empowered EPS employees to independently update personal information, initiate expense requests, and seek approvals. Consequently, this has alleviated the administrative burden on EPS’s HR teams, allowing them to concentrate on higher-value tasks. Furthermore, Workday has facilitated EPS’s process improvements in various domains, including employee onboarding and continuous learning and development.

EPS has successfully implemented various Workday modules, including Talent Optimization, Learning, and Expenses. Looking ahead, EPS plans to enhance employee development and engagement by integrating Workday Peakon Employee Voice later this year. This tool will grant managers real-time insights into employee sentiment, offering the information needed to promptly drive organizational growth and change based on employee feedback.
