Growing Demand for Integrated GenAI Solutions in Cybersecurity

Singapore, December 24, 2024 – The findings of CrowdStrike’s 2024 State of AI in Cybersecurity Survey reveal a significant shift in preferences among security leaders, with 80% favouring platform-based generative AI (GenAI) tools over standalone applications. This trend underscores the increasing need for integrated solutions to streamline operations, enhance team productivity, and bolster threat detection capabilities.
Furthermore, 63% of survey respondents expressed their willingness to overhaul their existing security infrastructure to embrace fully integrated GenAI solutions. This development reflects the growing challenges organisations face, such as skills shortages, the sophisticated tactics of adversaries, and operational complexities. The findings highlight the industry’s pivot towards comprehensive platform-driven strategies tailored to meet the unique demands of modern cybersecurity.
Key Insights from the Survey:
- Platform-Centric Preferences: An overwhelming 80% of respondents indicated a preference for GenAI tools integrated into unified cybersecurity platforms, identifying seamless integration as their top priority.
- Enhanced Breach Prevention: With 74% of participants reporting breaches or vulnerability concerns in the past year, the ability to improve threat detection and response emerged as a primary driver of GenAI adoption.
- Customised Solutions for Cybersecurity: Approximately 76% of respondents favoured GenAI tools specifically designed for cybersecurity, rejecting general-purpose AI solutions.
- Augmenting Analysts, Not Replacing Them: The consensus among participants is that GenAI serves to enhance the work of security analysts by improving productivity, reducing alert fatigue, and facilitating faster onboarding without replacing human expertise.
- Prioritising Responsible AI Use: Nearly 90% of respondents are proactively establishing guidelines for the secure implementation of GenAI, highlighting the importance of built-in safety and privacy measures for realising GenAI’s potential.
